First Day for Bob's Stay
Bob's Stay came home with us as a foster on Saturday afternoon. He had a busy first 24 hours. After an hour long ride from the kennel, he took a 30 minute walk with one of his foster brothers. He then met the remaining 3 foster siblings and the rest of the family. He slept through the night in a crate in our room the first night and is getting along with all members of the family, which consists of 2 adult male greyhounds, an adult female greyhound, a playful 11 month old male greyhound puppy, my husband and my two sons.
This handsome hound enjoyed another 30 minute walk on Sunday with 2 of his other foster siblings. He has nice leash manners, so don't be intimidated because he is a big boy. Noises don't seem to phase him so far. He pays no attention to lawn mowers, leaf blowers, weed eaters, loud trucks or the hair dryer. He jumps in and out of an SUV and has mastered going up and down the stairs - inside the house and off the deck in the backyard.
He has done great as far as housebreaking and understands what "go outside" and "potty" means. He seems to enjoy the company of humans and is resting quietly on a dog bed next to my desk as I type this post. Look for more progress reports and pictures soon.
